CMA and the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) will convene a workshop on May 9 to be participated in by migrant NGOs and trade unions for the purpose of furthering efforts and initiatives on migrants rights protection in the ILO and in the trade unions and of bringing closer together the local migrant NGOs and trade unions. This is a first-time effort along this line.

The following day, May 10, FES with Migrant Forum in Asia (MFA) will have a network meeting of migrant NGOs and trade unions from South East Asia.

The third forum on May 11-12,“Substantiating the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Dialogue on Social and Employment Issues”, organized by FES and the Department of Labor and Employment, is the first- ever conference-dialogue of Asian labor ministries with participation from the business and civil society groups. The main goal of this meeting is to contribute – from an Asian perspective – in identifying issues of joint concern on employment creation, labor market reform, migration and the promotion of sound labor relations as well as expectations towards the ASEM process in those matters.
